BookBook Da Neighbor

Hallo hallo hallo hallo! Pehea oe? Maika'i fine, yeah? Tis I, BookBook da Neighbor, better known as Becky Bear, Chalyss, Tahmas, Aerik Winters, Vandal Swan, Serafelle, Khymeara Da`annae, and many, many others.

Betcher wondering about the handle, huh? What the bloody heck BookBook means. Weelllll.. suffa, Pope! *maniacal laughter... sheepish look... cough* Anyway, Its probably not nearly so interesting as you're hoping. *Gets that storytelling voice* See, I useta live in Hawaii, Honolulu, Hickam AFB, to be exact. Lived there for four years..and in that time, one can't help but pick up what's called Pidgin English, an odd blend of English, Japanese, and Hawaiian. Real chop suey, yeah? An' no' fo' da malihini! Get'em in some trouble, fo' real! Book Book actually came from Hawaii's first stand-up comic, Andy Bumatai ("First we get da guy, Bumatai..." "Bumatia? Does that come with a back scratcher?"). In one of his acts, he was showing the different kinds of languages on the Islands... Filipinos, he said, sound like boiling water... "Lookitdabookbook, lookitdabookbook". Somehow, it stuck... on me. Book book, in Pidgin, is actually a derogotory saying... *laughter* lovely, eh? It means... *runs for da book, "Pidgin to da Max", bible of Pidgin*... it means... um... *L* Well... I'm not Filipino, but that's what Buk Buk means.

Da second part, Da Neighbor, no wen come from da Islands, brah. Dat come from da Mainland, land o' da Hoale...*grins* Washington state, if it really boddah you ta know. Just a thing a little boy I was babysitting for a friend's sister somehow came up with. Well, it was A.J.'s attempt (and A.J. does not mean Apple Jacks, by the way), at saying "Paulinator", a monicker my older brother Brent gave my ex, Paul. A.J. spoke it as "Paul the neighbor", and the name stuck. As is the wont of my family to give eachother the strangest nicknames possible, I was eventually dubbed BookBook da Neighbor. *grins* There... not too terribly exciting was it?

Hey, for a lark, check this pic out... Kawaii, yeah? Da cute... *beans at the pic and adores* It was drawn by my VERY talented friend, Jesse Hamm. One of the most clever writers and best, flexible artists I've ever met. Cool guy. But I'm not jealous of his talents or anything. Heck no... never. Not me... *hehs and grins*
